Hundreds of essential workers get free COVID-19 testing at Indiana State Fairgrounds

COVID-19 testing continues at State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — State health officials were testing more Hoosiers for coronavirus at the State Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Saturday was the third day for essential workers to get tested for free.

Officials say more than 200 people have been tested and organizers hope this makes a difference.

“It feels good to for us to actually make another avenue for folks to come in here,” said Jennifer Pitcher, executive director of MESH Coalition. “It’s a fast, safe and efficient way of getting folks in and out and being a part of the community and doing what we can for those we support.”

The testing is not open to the public and open for essential workers only.

It will take place weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
