Repeat drunk driver behind bars, accused of 10th DWI
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A repeat drunk driver is behind bars once again, accused of his tenth DWI.
Police say a drunken Rayburn Apache was behind the wheel Friday night near Central and 98th in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Eyewitnesses said the 43-year-old almost wrecked into other cars, then suddenly struck a pole.
Officers said Apache wreaked of alcohol, could hardly stand or walk and refused to cooperate.
Last September, police say Apache was driving a stolen truck when he smashed into a truck at Central and Zuni.
That vehicle then hit and injured an Albuquerque police officer.
In court Saturday the judge laid into Apache and set his bond at $50,000 cash or surety.
