State to test Tornado Warning Systems for preparedness
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana Homeland Security has announced that there will be statewide tornado drills on Thursday, both in the morning and afternoon.
Severe Weather Preparedness Week has started. The city of Indianapolis will begin preparations on March 19 with a Tornado Warning Test between 10 and 10:30 a.m., and again between 7:30 and 8 p.m.
The test will include Emergency Weather Systems and Tornado Warning Sirens, which will be evaluated for their performance.
IHS encourages schools, businesses, families and facilities to use this time to test out tornado response plans.
