Fever choose Chelsea Gardner with 21st pick in WNBA Draft
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Fever chose Chelsea Gardner of Kansas with 21st overall pick in the WNBA draft Thursday night.
The 6-foot-3 forward led the Jayhawks with 16.8 points per game. She also averaged 8.6 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and was a two-time all-Big 12 selection. Gardner finished No. 12 on Kansas’ career scoring list with 1,516 points.
It was the only pick Indiana had in the draft after sending first and third-round picks to San Antonio in a trade last month to acquire guard Shenise Johnson.
