Reports: iTunes could soon be replaced with apps for music, TV, podcasts

(WISH) — In 2001, iTunes was launched and changed the way people get and listen to music.
On Monday, Apple may announce it’s ready to retire the product, according to a report from Bloomberg.
Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook’s announcement is expected to be made at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif.
The Bloomberg report says Apple will be replacing iTunes with standalone music, TV and podcasts apps.
Earlier this month, 9to5mac.com reported iTunes would be replaced with an app simply called Music. It’s possible that an older version of iTunes will be kept available for users who need extra features.
