The Film Yap reviews “Hellboy” “Missing Link” and “Little”
What’s playing this weekend? What’s worth your time and money?
The Film Yap’s Christopher Lloyd breaks it all down!
Hellboy — The comic book antihero gets a reboot starring David Harbour as the red-skinned, mallet-fisted demon/man summoned by Nazis but fighting for good-ish causes.
Missing Link — Another visually stunning stop-motion animation film from Laika (“Kubo and the Two Strings”), although the story is a little too mainstream and upbeat for my taste.
Little — A film pitched by a 10-year-old who stars and serves as executive producer in a tale about a woman who gets turned back into a kid. Would be heartwarming if it weren’t so aggressively awful.
After — Teen love takes a dark twist in this story of a college freshman who falls for the wrong sort of guy… or is he???
The Brink — This documentary portrait of former White House strategist Steve Bannon looks at his effort to spread nationalism on a global scale.
Welcome to Marwen — Every now and then, critics and audiences get a film dead wrong, and that’s the case of this quirky, offbeat drama starring Steve Carell as a damaged man who copes through WWII puppets. Buy It.
