9 arrested after six month investigation in Henry County

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — Nine people, including a man and his mother, were arrested following a six-month investigation.

The Henry County/New Castle SWAT team served a search warrant on Feb. 15 at 307 Beyers Court in New Castle.

Police said the homeowner, Shawn Moore, fled the house along with two other people. Police said he threw nine plastic bags of Alprazolam tablets into the yard, leaving one more bag in his waist band, before yelling repeatedly that everything in the house was his.

Investigators said an an additional 462 Alprazolam tablets were found inside the house, along with drug paraphernalia, synthetic drugs and six cell phones.

Police said Moore admitted to buying the pills online but claimed that they were not “real” but still may get people high, along with his intention to trade 250 of them for synthetic drugs in Indianapolis and then sell the rest of the pills.

Police say Moore admitted to selling Subutex, Suboxone, meth and synthetic cannibinoids and that everything in the residence belonged to him, with the exception of the meth that was found in the house.

A woman that prosecutors say is Moore’s mother, Mary, was charged with possession of meth in the case.

Shawn Moore faces charges of dealing in a look-a-like substance, maintaining a common nuisance, obstruction of justice, possession of paraphernalia and possession of synthetic cannibinoids. Mary Moore faces charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine.
