Comedy show fundraiser honoring the legacy of John Andretti

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Gutty’s Comedy Club is hosting a fundraiser to bring honor to the legacy of famed race car driver, John Andretti, in the best way they know how: by making people laugh.

Andretti, who used his platform to raise more than $5 million and awareness for Riley Hospital for Children, lost his own battle with colon cancer in January 2020. Andretti’s long-time friend, Dave Wilson, partnered with fellow comedian Blake Champlin to host Comedy for a Cause: The John Andretti Legacy Show.

Champlin, a local comic, talked about why he decided to jump in with the help of the Gutty’s Comedy Club owners, to help the #CheckIt4Andretti Foundation.

Watch the interview to hear from featured comedians Ryan May and Dennis Tooley on what it means to them to be a part of helping Andretti’s cause and continuing his work for those battling cancer.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Click here to get tickets.
