Wednesday’s business headlines

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here’s a look at Wednesday’s business headlines.

Credit cards

Consumers are spending more and ramping up credit card balances.

That’s a reversal of what happened during the pandemic.

However, the Federal Reserve says balances are still $123 billion lower than at the end of 2019.

Mammoth Solar

The largest solar farm in the nation will be built in northwest Indiana.

At 13,000 acres, it is named the Mammoth Solar Project.

This project is a partnership between Indiana and Israeli-based Doral Renewables and is expected to bring a roughly $1.5 billion investment into the state over the next five years.

It will also mean huge financial gains for the local landowners as well as Stark and Pulaski counties, where it’s located.

Military veterans

WalletHub ranked cities on job opportunities, health care and quality of life.

It ranks Indianapolis 89th. Indianapolis lost some ground on health care.

Fort Wayne was ranked 64th.

The top city was Tampa and military cities like Virginia Beach and Colorado Springs ranked high as well.
