Children’s TherAplay Foundation hosts IndyCar drivers in #Horsepower500
CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — As the countdown to the Indianapolis 500 continues, some IndyCar drivers took part in a different kind of race Monday.
The #Horsepower500 raises money for The Children’s TherAplay Foundation. The organization provides equine-assisted physical and occupational therapies for children with special needs.
Several drivers including WISH-TV’s own driver-analyst Graham Rahal participated. The drivers were teamed up with a child currently receiving treatment.
Rahal said, “It’s special. We really just come out here and look like fools for a little bit, put a smile on these kids’ faces. They’re competitive, too. David came running down, giving me a high-five. We almost won. We were like a foot short. It’s great to be here.”
Funds raised Monday will help support the organization and help rehab the facility at 9919 Towne Road.
