Columbus landscape worker hit by bullet
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Columbus say a landscape worker was hit by a bullet while working in a wooded area.
According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at The Republic, the incident happened in the 1000 block of Westview Point Drive around 11 a.m. Friday. That’s in the Tipton Lakes area.
The victim, a 51-year-old man from Greensburg, thought that a BB or pellet hit him. When he went to the hospital he found that he had been hit by a .22-caliber bullet. He was treated and released from the Decatur County Hospital.
Police say the area where it happened is a wooded area. It’s possible that the shooter did not see the worker.
Police are trying to determine if someone was shooting the gun in the wooded area or from distance.
