29-year-old man dies after shooting on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead after a shooting on the city’s northeast side Monday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Police responded to a report of a person shot just after 1 p.m. Monday to the 3800 block of North Grand Avenue. That’s northeast of the intersection of 38th Street and Emerson Avenue.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday night identified the man as Christopher Richardson, 29.

Upon arrival, police found the man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

No suspect information has been released, and the man was not immediately identified.
