Construction worker attacked by teens for asking them to slow down

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – Three teenagers are accused of attacking a construction worker who asked them to slow down while driving. It happened around 9:30 Monday morning on Acorn Blvd. in Franklin.

According to a police report, the car sped by the construction workers, almost hitting them. One of the workers yelled for the teens to slow down.

That’s when witnesses say the car turned around and came back to confront the worker.

Derek Sparrow lives in the neighborhood and said he heard yelling outside. He looked out his window and saw the three teens start to punch the worker. Sparrow called for police and went outside to help.

“They continued to hoot and holler and cuss and all that and I mean, he’s bleeding from his ear, he had scrapes on his arm,” said Sparrow.

Sparrow says he separated the group and the teens drove off.

Those who live in the neighborhood are now hoping police identify those responsible. Many say speeding is a major issue in the area.

“With people flying through here all the time, blowing through stop signs, it is dangerous for anybody coming through,” said Kimberly Kraeszig, a neighbor.

Police only have a vague description of the car involved with attacking the construction worker. A report states it is a smaller white four-door Toyota.
