Woman found shot to death in Columbus apartment; ex-husband found dead in Indianapolis

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — The former husband of a Columbus woman shot and killed Friday night was found dead in Indianapolis on Saturday, Columbus police said.

Officers were called to the 3700 block of Picea Place at the Spruce Ridge Apartments around 9 p.m. Friday on reports of a person shot. They arrived at the scene and found a woman, later identified as 45-year-old Cassondra Wilson, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

IMPD on Saturday told Columbus investigators that Troy Wilson, 44, was found dead in Indianapolis. Investigators said Wilson was a person of interest in Cassondra Wilson’s death.

No other information about the circumstances of either death was immediately available.

Police say the incident is being handled by the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team.
