INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The city of Indianapolis came together Friday afternoon to honor those who have served our country.
The annual 500 Festival Memorial Service took place at noon. The event came with a very significant change this year.
Because of the construction on Monument Circle, the Indiana War Memorial hosted the event. The rest of the traditions remained.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence were just a couple of the officials in attendance.
A bell was rung for each Hoosier military member killed since March 2014.
