Hot and humid now, relief on the way

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– After a long stretch of hot and humid days, very comfortable temperatures and lower humidity return for the middle of the week. 

Good Monday evening! It was another hot one today with high temperatures near 90°. Relief is in sight as a cold front pushes its way through the state into the late afternoon hours, helping to drop temperatures and humidity levels.  

TONIGHT:

Spotty showers and storms are possible heading into the late afternoon and evening hours as the cold front pushes its way through the state. A rumble of thunder or two is possible, but the overall severe threat looks very low. 

Temperatures will cool of to the upper 70s by 10 pm before making their way into the low 70s around midnight.After about midnight, most of us will dry out with generally cloudy skies. Low temperatures will bottom out in the mid-60s for most of the state.

TOMORROW:

A beautiful Tuesday is on tap with temperatures starting out near 70° and heading into the low 80s by the afternoon hours. Humidity should be much lower as well.High temperatures will top out in the low to mid 80s for most of the state.MID-WEEK:

By the middle of the week, lower humidity levels and very comfortable temperatures will be in place. Highs on Wednesday will make their way into the low-80s. Thursday will be warmer with high temperatures in the mid-80s, but the humidity levels will still be very comfortable. 

EXTENDED FORECAST:

By the middle of the week, most of us will be enjoying very comfortable temperatures and low humidity levels. Rain chances return for the end of the week, helping to keep temperatures in the low 80s for the majority of the weekend and into the beginning of next week.
