Aerospace supplier announces plans to close Fort Wayne plant

A Los Angeles-based aerospace company says it is closing its Fort Wayne facility and laying off 52 workers.

In a notice to the state, DCX-CHOL Enterprises Inc. said it shutting down its SMI division.

The company designs and manufactures a variety of cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electronic connectors for the military and aerospace industries.

The company says it expects the closure to be permanent. The layoffs will take place January 31.
