IU Health doctor recognized for frontline work, nominated for award

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An IU Health doctor and COVID-19 survivor is being recognized for his work on the frontlines during the pandemic.

Dr. Mark Williams is being nominated for the first-ever American Lung Association COVID-19 Healthcare Hero award.

Dr. Williams and Tanya Husan, the executive director of the Lung Association in Indiana, were on Daybreak Monday.

The doctor talked about his experience with COVID-19, how he caught it and described his recovery from the virus. Williams also talked about what being nominated for the award means.

Dr. Williams also discussed the recent surge in coronavirus cases.
