Reggie Miller mural nearly finished in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — As the Indiana Pacers prepared to begin their new season Wednesday, Reggie Miller is looming large over downtown Indianapolis.

Muralist Pamela Bliss is almost finished with her 60-foot mural on the southwest corner of East Michigan and North Delaware streets, just a few blocks north of Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The owners of the building with the mural, Jafari Estates, contracted with Bliss to paint the mural.

Bliss was hoping to finish her work Wednesday night or Thursday. She said she cannot wait for the former Pacers star to see the mural in person.

Bliss said, “He will be here at some point because he does come here for games. I know he won’t be here until next year, for the games, but I’m sure he’ll be looking at it then.”

Bliss is known for her murals across downtown. They include the Kurt Vonnegut mural on Massachusetts Avenue.

A public dedication of the Miller mural was still being planned Thursday.
