INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The South Bend Chocolate Cafe on Monument Circle is getting ready for Valentine’s Day by preparing 600 pounds of chocolate-covered strawberries.

They’ve also got 500 pounds of strawberries on standby at Needler’s, if they need more.

General manager Melanie Palm says they’ll use around 1,500 pounds of milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate.

It’s $28.99 a pound for chocolate-covered strawberries and typically around $3 to $4 for one individual strawberry.

Right now, there are 100 pounds of strawberries preordered.

The store says they’ll sell all of the rest on Friday throughout the day.

Employees will begin dipping at 5 a.m. Friday morning. The store opens at 7 a.m. and the manager says you can expect there to be a line if you haven’t preordered.
