One killed in Sunday morning I-70 crash
PLAINFIELD,Ind. (WISH) – One person is dead following an early Sunday morning crash on I-70.
The fatal crash occurred just before 2 a.m. Sunday on I-70 near the Indianapolis Airport.
According to police, a witness passing by recalled seeing lights from a vehicle in a nearby ditch.
Police said a green 2001 Honda Civic had rolled a number of times ejecting both individuals from the vehicle.
The male occupant, 21-year-old Leanadro Villa passed away at the scene. The female 39-year-old Marie Sanchez was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
It’s unknown at this point whether speed or alcohol played a factor in the fatal crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
