Police make arrest in connection to east side armed robbery
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police have made an arrest in connection to an east side armed robbery.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a call of the armed robbery of an east side Speedway gas station early Monday morning.
The armed robbery occurred in the 1600 block of North Shadeland Road just after 5 a.m.
After arriving on the scene, officers began patrolling the area looking for a suspect matching the description. Soon after officers located a suspect matching the description, 18-year-old KeShawn Matthews.
Police said that Matthews had evidence on him at the time linking him to the crime.
Matthews was taken into custody and now faces a preliminary charge for the armed robbery.
