Stabbing suspect faces attempted murder charge
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The man accused in a stabbing in Lafayette faces a preliminary charge of attempted murder.
The incident happened a little before 11 p.m. on Friday at the Devon Plaza on N. 26th Street.
When police arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound to the neck.
The victim and witnesses told officers that the suspect had fled the area.
Police were able to track down 63-year-old James Coble of Lafayette in the 2100-block of North 25th Street.
Coble was arrested and faces preliminary charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police continue to investigate circumstances surrounding the incident.
