18-year-old ID’d as man shot, killed on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Authorities have identified the victim of a Monday shooting on the city’s east side as an 18-year-old man.

Stachonn Nance died of gunshot wounds in a homicide, the Marion County coroner announced Tuesday.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Tiffany Drive and Penway Street — just south of East 38th Street and east of North Franklin Road — about 5:55 p.m. Monday on a report of a person shot.

IMPD said in a news release Monday night that Indianapolis Fire Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were canvassing the area Monday for witnesses, but no information was released about a possible suspect in the shooting.
