Police investigate 2 women shot on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two women were injured in a Monday afternoon shooting on the city’s northeast side. 

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the intersection of East 42nd Street and Villard Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Monday on a report of a person shot. 

They arrived to find two women suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both women were taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, one in serious condition and the other with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to a release from IMPD.

Detectives with aggravated assault were looking for witnesses. 

No suspect information was available.
