Police release surveillance video of fatal dollar store shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police have released surveillance footage from a northeast side dollar store where a clerk was shot and killed during a suspected armed robbery on Sunday.
Brian Eure, 41, was shot and killed during a suspected armed robbery of the Dollar General at 5450 Emerson Way on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, Eure was working as a clerk when a man came into the store, wandered inside for roughly half an hour and then asked to use the restroom.
After that, the man handed a note to Eure and after reportedly saying that he saw Eure push the alarm, he shot Eure twice and took the note with him.
“I was working with him and the guy had been in there shopping,” Dollar General employee, Tricia Gaines said. “I thought he was just shopping and then he put a note on the counter. Brian turned and walked away and he pushed the panic button. He said, ‘you pushed the button didn’t you?’ and then he shot him.”
Monday, Eure’s family spoke to 24- Hour News 8, begging for the public’s help in tracking down the suspect behind his murder.
“I want this man caught,” Brian’s wife, Jolane Eure said. “I’m asking the community please for your help in catching this man and get him in jail so we can have closure. Please.”
Police have described the suspect as a black male, between 5 foot 7 inches and 6 six tall, wearing green pants, a green-and-white shirt, gray shoes and a hiking backpack.
Eure leaves behind four children. His family has set up a Go FundMe page to help with funeral costs.
