New historical marker denotes WWI aviation repair depot
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — A new historical marker is now in place in Speedway.
The marker sits at 1151 N. Main St., between Gilman and Ford streets. It’s in recognition of a World War I aviation repair depot that used to sit on the site.
The marker will serve as a reminder of those who worked on the ground to keep the country’s pilots in the air. This year marks the centennial of the end of World War I.
