‘Gr8 Comeback’: Harry & Izzy’s kicks off effort to get people back downtown

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — News 8 is putting a sharp focus on the “Gr8 Comeback” series, highlighting reasons for people to return downtown to support businesses, and their staffs, as they continue to fight through the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Back Downtown” campaign sponsored by Downtown Indy Inc. is dedicated to helping local businesses who are in the heart of Indianapolis recover. So News 8 kicked things off with an opening segment at local staple, Harry & Izzy’s.

Allen Long, the general manager of the restaurant’s downtown location, explained what it means to get back the support of Hoosiers in downtown Indianapolis.

“It means a lot to us,” he said. “I mean the community has always been here for us and we’re here for the community. We want to play our role in revitalizing this industry, revitalizing downtown Indianapolis and that is our first and foremost goal.”
