Margaret McQueary, General Manager of Zionsville Meadows one of the American Senior Communities, and volunteer Mary Beth Starrett outline the rewards and the benefits of volunteering in a senior community.

The biggest thing to remember if you want to volunteer, you don’t have to have tons of time…The biggest thing is to remember is to have a big heart.”

Mary Beth Starrett has been volunteering since she was 3 years old.

I don’t have to do great, huge, problematic, difficult, need lots-of-practice-to-do times to give gifts to people at Zionsville Meadows.  I just go and we sing together, or we sit and laugh together or we talk…and I just love it.”
