Humane Society for Hamilton County hoping ‘Woofstock’ fundraiser will beat pandemic deficit

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The Humane Society for Hamilton County is holding its annual ‘Woofstock’ Survivor 5K and Dog Walk this weekend. Organizers hope people will support the fundraiser, especially this year after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a press release, the shelter is depending on donors and virtual runners to help dig the Humane Society out of a $250,000 deficit. They say they hope to raise $40,000 from the Woofstock fundraiser and that money will go directly to saving over 100 animals arriving at the shelter in severe states of neglect and abuse.
