Arrest made after online threat made against HSE

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — The Fishers Police Department has made an arrest after a threat was made against Hamilton Southeastern Schools.

FPD said the threat was determined not to be credible, but a hoax. As a result, a 16-year-old student from Lawrence Central High School has been arrested.

Investigators said a message “alluding to a violent act” was made during a live social media event. The investigation began on Monday evening.

The juvenile has been transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center after being located and taken into custody without incident.

“The safety of our kids is our number one priority,” said Fishers Police Department Chief Thompson. “We are very fortunate to have strong working relationships with school officials, students and the community.”

The suspect faces preliminary charges of false informing and obstruction of justice, both level six felonies.
