Coroner IDs 2 victims killed in shooting on city’s near east side

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims killed in a shooting Tuesday night on the city’s near east side. The coroner identified the victims as 18-year-old Kevin Thomas and 20-year-old Emmanuel Oluwafemi.

Authorities said Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting in the 1400 block of Marlowe Avenue. Oluwafemi was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

No other details about their cause of death have been released.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead and a second person is critically injured following a shooting on the city’s near east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Marlowe Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of gunshots.

Police said that when they arrived at the scene, they found two men who had been shot. One of the men was already dead. IMPD says the other man was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers said evidence at the scene was spread out and there were shell casings found from more than one weapon.

Multiple people have been detained who were on the scene.

No possible suspect information has been released.
