Man killed in shooting at east side bar

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person is dead after a shooting at an east side bar Saturday morning.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded to a report of a person shot at 5462 Massachusetts Avenue just after 5:00 a.m. That is the address of The Famous Grand bar.

The man was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound and transported to an area hospital. He died less than an hour later.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office later identified the man as James Smith, 31.
