Indiana State Fair: Chestnut 2nd in ice cream eating contest
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The winner of Sunday’s ice cream eating contest at the Indiana State Fair managed to put away 15.5 pints in six minutes.
Geoffrey Esper beat Joey Chestnut by a full pint, leaving the world eating champion in second place.
Chestnut holds the official world record for hot dog eating, at 74 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
Miko Sudo, the 2017 ice cream eating champion, holds the world record for ice cream consumption at 16.5 pints.
The top five contestants this year were:
- Geoffrey Esper, 15.5 pints
- Joey Chestnut, 14.5 pints
- Juan Rodriguez, 12 pints
- Derek Jacobs, 11.5 pints
- Brian Dudzinsky, 11.5 pints
