Indy airport receives global recognition

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis International Airport is one of a group of airports around the world to receive the Voice of the Customer award from Airports Council International. The recognition is given to airports for their efforts in gathering feedback from travelers through ACI’s Airport Service Quality program last year.

The Indy airport is among 140 airports worldwide to be awarded the honor. Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez says the ASQ program was crucial for airports last year during the pandemic.

“Last year was not the time to pull back on efforts to receive input from travelers, but a most-critical time to lean in even more so and be clear on what they needed to feel comfortable and safe while traveling during this unprecedented time,” Rodriguez said in a news release. “We’re committed to listening to our travelers and delivering world-class customer service now and into the future.”

The award is the latest given to the Indy airport during the pandemic. In November, ACI certified the airport with its Airport Health Accreditation for its efforts to keep travelers and airport staff safe during the pandemic.
