INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — An Indianapolis-based third party logistics and freight management company is expanding its footprint on the west coast. Langham Logistics is investing more than $1 million to open its first Class A industrial warehouse location in southern California.

The company says the nearly 47,000-square-foot facility in the city of Carson, located south of Los Angeles, will service long-term regional customers and meet increased demand for services from Midwest-based customers.

“This new warehouse location offers a strategic advantage for all of our clients with business in the far east,” said Cathy Langham, chief executive officer of Langham Logistics. “It allows for growth and a dynamic system to move freight worldwide with a shorter lead time.”

Langham is moving an existing operation into the new facility, which will preserve more than 40 jobs. The company says some of those jobs will be transitioned to Indianapolis.

Langham Logistics also recently announced an expansion to its warehouse in Plainfield, which will increase its capacity to 240,000 square feet.
