New CEO named at Kappa Alpha Theta

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis-based Kappa Alpha Theta has chosen Jennifer Broughton Schmaltz as its new chief executive officer. Current CEO Betsy Sierk Corridan has announced she will step down on June 30, 2022.

Broughton Schmaltz has more than 15 years on the Theta staff after beginning as an educational leadership consultant before serving as a liason to the membership committee and eventually becoming assistant director, a position she held for nine years.

She became chief operating officer in 2014 and will continue to serve in the role as she transitions to CEO in 2022. Fraternity President Mandy Wushinke says the personnel committee has planned for the transition for several years.

“Through the interview process it was clear that Jenni has the talent, vision, and passion to lead Kappa Alpha Theta in a way that is consistent with the excellence that has been evident throughout Betsy’s tenure as executive director and CEO. We are eagerly looking forward to a smooth transition and to officially welcome Jenni to this role,” said Wushinke.
