Purdue Polytechnic HS and Keystone to partner on a new school
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis-based real estate developer Keystone Group and Purdue Polytechnic High School have announced a partnership to create a multi-use development, including a new PPHS campus on the north side of Indianapolis. The new facility will become the new permanent home for the charter school, located less than a mile from its current space in the Broad Ripple neighborhood.
Not only will the property include the school, but Keystone also plans to add 69 apartments and additional parking in this unique property development.
PPHS North moved into temporary Broad Ripple facilities for 2019-202 school year. The property was renovated by Keystone. The school says it expects to reach capacity in the next school year.
“This project is important to the students and the neighborhood of Broad Ripple,” said Jennifer Pavlik, Keystone Group vice president. “Knowing they would eventually outgrow their current space we pledged to find another location that would meet their growth in the Broad Ripple neighborhood.”
Keystone says the new development will be designed with the Purdue Polytechnic High School educational model in mind and will include makerspaces, science labs, collaborative workspaces and state-of-the-art technology.
“Keystone has been a strong partner with PPHS, working directly with students on project challenges and renovating our initial Broad Ripple campus,” said Scott Bess, head of schools for PPHS, “This new building will allow us to continue to serve the Broad Ripple and surrounding communities for years to come, offering a next-generation high school experience in a next-generation building.”
In addition to the construction project, Keystone also serves as a PPHS Industry Partner. It provides students with the opportunity to learn from their employees and exposure to the many career pathways that exist within their organization.
The timeline is to have the building ready for students by mid-late July 2022.
