State launches Hospitality & Entertainment Grant program
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Governor Eric Holcomb has launched a grant program designed to support Indiana hotels and entertainment venues. The Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant program includes $30 million in federal funding for eligible businesses that have been “significantly impacted over the last year and largely excluded from other government assistance programs.”
Holcomb’s office says eligible businesses can apply for reimbursement of certain business expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. Qualified expenses include payroll, as well as non-payroll expenses such as insurance premiums, rent or mortgage payments, utilities, lease payments, and safety investments.
Businesses may receive up to $100,000 for each month, but may not exceed $1 million total.
“I continue to be encouraged and inspired by the resilience of Indiana’s business communities,” Holcomb said in a news release. “This new grant program is yet another resource that will help Hoosier businesses weather the financial impacts of the pandemic and prepare to welcome back guests and visitors in the months to come.”
Some of the requirements for businesses to be eligible for the program include being established prior to October 1, 2019; still operating in Indiana; being registered to operate in Indiana and must be seeking reimbursement for expenses related only to Indiana operations; and having fewer than 500 full-time employees in 2019.
