Local attorney sentenced for tax evasion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A local attorney was sentenced Tuesday on tax evasion charges.

Steven Geller was found guilty of not paying taxes from 2007 to 2011 during a bench trial in December.

Tuesday, a judge said Geller’s felony charge will be changed to a misdemeanor after his back-taxes are filed.  Geller will also serve time on probation.

Steven Geller has represented defendants in approximately 534 criminal cases and 85 civil cases for the years 2007 to 2011 in Marion County.

According to court documents, Geller deposited more than $400,000 in accounts from 2007 to 2011.
