INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One person is dead and another is injured after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 near 86th Street Monday morning.

Indiana State Police say the crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. when a car driving southbound on I-65 ran off the road, went through the cable divider and came to a stop in the northbound lanes. A Jeep Wrangler traveling northbound hit the stationary car.

The male driver of the car was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and is stable.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
