Carmel Marathon weekend set to get underway

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – About 6,000 runners are less than 24 hours from toeing the starting the line of the Carmel Marathon weekend.

This is the ninth year for the race.

It’s a big event that essentially kicks of the spring running seasons and has had a big impact on the city.

Sarah Bustamante with the Carmel Marathon stopped by Daybreak Friday.

She discussed how much the race has grown since it first began and the kind of impact it has had on Carmel and central Indiana.
