IndyCar series officially underway
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The IndyCar series is officially underway as of Friday morning.
Governor Holcomb placed the green flag on atop of Gate 1 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The flag not only marks the start of the season, but also the countdown to the 101st Indy 500.
After placing the flag, the governor got a special delivery, a bottle of milk. There will be a series of milk deliveries landing up to the 500.
IndyCar starts its season Sunday in Saint Petersburg, Florida with the Firestone Grand Prix.
The Indy 500 is on Sunday, May 28.
