Man accused of assaulting teen wearing ‘Make America Great Again’ hat

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KXAN) — A teenager wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat was assaulted Tuesday at a San Antonio Whataburger, police say.

Witnesses say a man took the hat off Hunter Richard’s head and then threw soda at him, then walked away with it. The exchange was videoed and the man can be heard saying, “You don’t need to support s**t.”

The teens say the man came up to them without any provocation. They filed a police report and posted the video to social media to try to find out who the man is. It’s since gone viral.

“I didn’t think it was going to generate the amount like what people are doing,” Richard said. “I was looking at the comments by some people and they are like, ‘This is uncalled for,’ and other people are like mixed opinions, but I didn’t think it would blow up to what it is now.”
