Olympic gold medalist shows opposition to RFRA
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A former Olympic gold medalist who wanted to show his opposition to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act at Monday night’s City-County Council meeting.
Olympic gold medalist diver Greg Louganis was emotional after the council members passed Proposal 120 with a vote of 24 to 4.
“It’s such an honor to be able to be a part of this and to share what Indiana has meant to me, because they’ve always been very supportive. I know that what Gov. Pence has done is not reflective of the majority of the people,” said Louganis.
Louganis has said, in the past, that Indianapolis felt like a second home.
While he has competed locally at the Natatorium. In the late 80s he took time out of his busy diving schedule to dance alongside Dance Kaleidoscope.
