Security guard shot at west-side liquor store
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A security guard was shot Wednesday night by a shoplifting suspect at a west-side liquor store.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent shortly after 6 p.m. to Liquorland, 3950 N. High School Road. That’s just northeast of the Interstate 465 interchange at 38th Street.
Sgt. Jim Gillespie with IMPD public affairs said a security guard was confronting an alleged shoplifter and the suspect fired on the guard. The guard returned fire. Gillespie said it was not immediately known if the suspect was hit by gunfire.
The security guard suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
