Several rain chances coming up this week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Our beautiful stretch of weather is coming to an end, with rain and storms returning for the middle of the week.

Monday night:

Look for increasing clouds overnight. Otherwise we’re quiet and mild, with lows in the middle 50s.

Tuesday:

An upper-level system will bring mostly cloudy conditions to the area for the morning, with scattered showers moving in for the afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible as well.

Highs will top out in the middle 70s.

Wednesday:

Another cloud-filled day, with scattered showers and storms through much of the day. More widespread rain chances will likely be in the afternoon and evening. A few storms could be on the strong side — much of central Indiana is under a marginal risk for severe storms in the afternoon.

Another threat for severe weather will come on Thursday as a cold front swings throgh the state.

8-day forecast:

A cooler pattern will shake out after our midweek rain. Highs will only top out near 60 on Friday. We should be in for a dry forecast for the IndyCar Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon. On Mother’s Day on Sunday, expect just an isolated shot for showers. The open of next week looks dry and cool, with highs in the 60s.
