Rain chances returning for the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We were expecting a mostly clear Thursday across central Indiana. However, extra moisture not far above the surface caused a mainly cloudy day for a good portion of central Indiana.

Thursday night:

We look to partially clear out with partly cloudy skies remaining through the overnight hours. We will also have a slightly cooler night ahead with lows dipping into the low 60s.

Friday:

We will start your Friday partly cloudy, but skies will become mostly cloudy with a few peaks of sun in the afternoon hours. Partly cloudy skies look to return by Friday evening. It will be pleasant overall with highs topping out in the mid 70s.

Weekend:

A slight warm-up will slide in through the weekend with highs in the low 80s as we bring back rain and storm chances. Scattered showers and storms are possible Saturday afternoon and into the nighttime hours. There is the chance for an isolated strong to severe storm northeast of the Indy metro Saturday night. An isolated shower or two is possible Sunday morning before we dry out.

8 Day Forecast:

A fantastic first portion of the work week is expected with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. Showers and storm chances look to return back into the forecast by next Wednesday and going through Friday. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s for the remainder of the work week.
