Snow Tuesday night, gradual warmup to follow

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We have had a much colder and cloudy Tuesday with rain and snow showers moving into the state.

Tuesday night: A Freeze Warning will be in effect from 10 PM Tuesday night until 10 AM Wednesday morning.

Rain showers will continue to transition over to snow this evening. The snow could be heavy at times. Minor accumulation will mainly be confined to grassy areas and elevated surfaces. Most areas will receive less than an inch of snow with higher amounts possible north of interstate 70.

Be sure to have the winter coat if you are heading out tonight as our lows will fall into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday: Snow showers will move out before sunrise Wednesday as another cold afternoon will be on tap for us. Highs will only manage to rise into the mid 40s. With Wednesday night going to be another cold night, a Freeze Watch will be in effect from late Wednesday night until Thursday morning.

Thursday: Slightly better weather conditions will move in for our Thursday with lots of sunshine. Highs will still remain below average as we will top out in the low to mid 50s.

8 Day Forecast: We will continue our warmup into Friday before rain showers return to the forecast Friday night. Showers are likely on and off throughout our Saturday before we dry out Sunday. As we enter the new workweek next week, we will pick back up on the warming trend.
