Police investigate fatal shooting on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s east side.

Officers were called to the intersection of Tiffany Drive and Penway Street — just south of East 38th Street and east of North Franklin Road — around 5:54 p.m. Monday on a report of a person shot.

IMPD said in a news release Monday night that officers found a male was who appeared to have been shot and Indianapolis Fire Department pronounced the male deceased on scene. Additional information on the victim was not immediately available.

Homicide detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses.
